Jeff Wu Jie
Maestro Jeff Wu Jie graduated from China’s Xi’an Conservatory of Music in 1987, majoring in Voice. He was subsequently invited to stay on as Music Professor, and also served as conductor of the Conservatory’s symphony orchestra and choir. In 1990, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing to further his studies in Conducting. He graduated in 1992_
In the same year, (1992), Jeff Wu came to Singapore and joined Accord Music. a subsidiary of Eastgate Technologies, as Music Director and Producer. specializing in classical music. In 1995. he was appointed Senior Lecturer in the Music Faculty of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. where he also founded the Academy’s choir. At the same time, he was appointed as Conductor and Choir Master of the Raffles Institution and the Raffles Girls’ Secondary School choirs These are Singapore’s premier secondary schools. with the highest academic admission scores.
In 1997, he formed the Meter Field Music Development Company, and became its President and Music Director, In year 2000, he left for New York’s Julliard School to further his musical studies. He returned to Singapore. and in 2002, served as Conductor and Choir Master of many choirs.
Among other notable achievements. Mr. Wu was awarded the Artistic Excellence Award by the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS) in 2006, in recognition of his excellence in the musical field. In 2014, he received the Singapore Outstanding Immigrant Award.
In 2016, Jeff assumed the position as Council Member of the Huayuan Association. which is an organization of Chinese immigrants to Singapore. and is also in charge of its artistic troupe Jeff Wu Jie is also currently the Vice President of the Singapore Musicians Society. In addition, he sits on the board of the Council of Singapore Composers Association. Besides the Meter Field Music Choir. he is also the conductor and choir master of 3 other choirs
Elena Ng Choy Luan
Elena Ng graduated from the National Conservatory of Music “A. Casella” Italy with majors in Classical Vocal and Stage Performance. In 2007, Elena was awarded the Fellowship Diploma of the London College of Music in Classical Singing and Choral Conducting. She had presented many Solo Recital and Choral Conducting classes in various countries such as USA, UK, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. She is frequently invited as an Adjudicator for regional and International Music Competition. She also served as clinician and main onductor for choir festivals. Elena is presently the Artistic Advisor of Singapore Choral Association, Vice President of the World Chinese Choral Arts Federation, Vice President of The Musicians Association of Singapore, President/Artistic Director of Singapore Echo Philharmonic Society, Head of Department of Singapore Raffles Music College Classical Vocal Department and Examiner of London College of Music (LCM) Chinese Music Examination.
